Bob Burkett is one of the best attorneys I have ever worked with. He helped my neighbor after her insurance company refused to pay for hurricane damage to her home. After unsuccessfully negotiating with my insurance company about my damaged roof, I hired Bob. My agreement with him was for a reas...onable retainer cost and no contingency like other attorneys charge for this type of case. Don’t sign an agreement with your insurance company, roofing company, or any other attorney who may take a contingency fee. If you do that may have much less control over the situation and you could end up with less money than you need for your home repairs. I met with several attorneys before hiring Bob and the other attorneys gave me the impression that my case would just be included with their stack of cases and could end up taking a very long time to get resolved. Each time I met at Bob's office he and his staff made me feel very welcome. I called and emailed with a lot of questions and Bob always responded promptly and explained things to me very clearly. From the beginning and until the conclusion of the case he made me feel very comfortable. He forwarded all the filings he submitted and received and kept me updated the entire time. I spoke with some of my neighbors who used roofing companies and other attorneys and their cases took many months and one neighbor’s case took over a year. From the time my case was filed, I received the check two and a half months later. The check will cover the complete replacement of my tile roof and gutters. Hurricane Irma claims from September 2017 can still be resolved as long as you filed or reopened a claim by September 2020. Even if you don’t think you have a slam-dunk case. My case was far from clear cut. My understanding is that you have five years from the date of the storm to file a lawsuit against your insurance company. Don’t waste an opportunity to get your old and damaged roof replaced. Do yourself a favor and call Bob before you sign any agreements with a roofing company or any other attorney. If you feel hopeless or discouraged because your claim was originally denied, call Bob because you have nothing to lose.

Bob is an intelligent caring attorney who works endlessly for clients. He responds to messages immediately and cares that clients are treated fairly. His expertise is evident not only in his legal writings but he won an insurance claim for my roof within 30 days because he knows exactly how insurance... companies operate. I called my agent and adjuster and it was nothing but excuses and delays. I hired Bob and suddenly my insurance company took notice. I would have had to pay for my roof and been in debt for years. I can’t thank Bob enough. Hire him and he will be honest and inform you if he thinks he can win your case. Finding Bob was best call I made.

Bob has taken care of two car accidents for me where I was not at fault. In the first one, the other driver had no insurance. In the most recent one, their was not enough insurance for injuries. He was able to negotiate with both car insurance companies and my health insurance to get my liens cleared... out and put some money in my pocket. He has always been very quick to respond to me and does everything in a timely manner. He has always had my best interest at heart and has been good to me. I would recommend him to everyone.

In my opinion, Robert Burkett is that one attorney everyone wants to find. One that listens to you, allows you to be part of all decisions, and very importantly allows you to help determine case strategy. He solved a sticky Malpractice action against one of his own profession for me with professio...nalism to all parties and got me a fair settlement. Overall excellent and will use him in the future if the need arises.
