He is a member of the Florida Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and he is also a member of the Florida Justice Association, an organization committed to preserving the rights of victims and their families in personal injury and wrongful death cases. Mr. Spivey is a past president of the Lee County Personal Injury Association and also a member of the Southwest Florida Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Spivey earned a Bachelor's Degree with high honors from the University of South Florida. Mr. Spivey received his Juris Doctor of Law degree from Loyola University College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Spivey was a member of the school's two most prestigious organizations, Law Review and Moot Court. Mr. Spivey also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola University.
