Jose Ignacio Concepcion

I am a seasoned criminal defense attorney with over 25 years of courtroom experience. My background as a former prosecutor and law enforcement academy instructor gives me unique insight into defending the rights of the accused, which I am passionate about. I graduated from the University of Miami Honors Program and received my Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University.

My legal journey began in insurance defense, but I quickly transitioned to criminal defense to advocate for clients daily. With over 200 trials under my belt, I have successfully handled a wide range of criminal cases, including homicide, drug trafficking, and DUI. My experience in both public defense and as an Assistant State Attorney allows me to understand both sides of the courtroom, enabling me to craft effective defense strategies.

I pride myself on being a zealous and knowledgeable advocate for my clients. I also have extensive experience in trial, post-conviction and appellate matters, ensuring that my clients' rights are protected throughout the legal process. Additionally, I am familiar with matters relating to "Crimmigration" and always evaluate and discuss a non-client's personal situation to ensure that any resolution preserves the client's eligibility to remain in the country and proceed with any pending immigration process.

Being born to a Hispanic family in Miami, I am proud to serve Spanish-speaking clients directly, allowing for clear communication and a deeper understanding of their experiences.
