Client involved in dispute with neighbor ultimately charged with Attempted 2d Degree Murder with a Firearm facing Life in prison. Initially, the State sought to detain without Bond but we successfully ... prevailed when we challenged that detention through an Arthur hearing (client remained free until arrested on other charges). We aggressively prepared the case for trial and ultimately were able to significantly mitigate the sentence he was facing and make sure it was run together with any new charges being faced.

Client arrested for domestic violence battery after wife accused him of striking her in an attempt to set him up for deportation (it appeared she struck her own nose). Case was set for trial immediate ... ly so that the client could assert his innocence. Interestingly, the client, a muslim, was set for trial on Wednesday September 12, 2001, then 9/11 happened. Assuring that all challenges were in place to protect the client from prejudice after initially requesting a mistrial and new trial date but being denied, the case went to trial and the client was acquitted.
