David Tobiassen

I have the upmost respect for Mr Tobiassen. He's a straight shooter as they say. While handling the re- sentencing of my sister's killers he handled himself in the most professional manner I've ever witnessed. Early on in this case I took out my frustration on Mr Tobiassen. I wrote a unfavourable le...tter to the governor's office and State Attorney's office. I let my feelings over rule common sense and good judgment that day and I apologize to Mr Tobiassen for that. After seating through two days of re-sentencing it became apparent that he took this case as personally as if it had happen to his family. As he cross-examine the forensic social worker for one of the defendants I feel as if I was watching movie. He totally decimated the testimony that we were hearing. In the end I truly believe that Mr Tobiassen would fight for justice in any other case he's involved with.

Contacted Mr. Tobaissen after a most unsatisfactory conversation with his understudy, Ms. Melendez-Kotch. I contacted the both of them in need of an explanation of a statute that I clearly could not understand, though I know how to read English and can count to five on all four appendages. W...hile discussing my son's suicide case, Mr. Tobiassen somehow worked into the conversation details about two upcoming trials, one about a man who stabbed another 51 times, and another case where a rape was described in intimate detail. Never did I expect to hear the word "vagina" while discussing the apparently unavoidable-at-all-costs-it's-meant-to-have-happened suicide of my only son, who was 15 years and 27 days old. Hm. Florida, if this is the best and brightest you got looking out for the citizens of this state, you're out of luck.
