Christopher Yeazell earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1989. Even in college, Christopher Yeazell excelled, winning awards including the American Jurisprudence Award for Products Liability and the 10th Annual Walter Rice Moot Court Competition Award.
After completing his education, Christopher Yeazell continued to excel in his practice and gained stature within the legal community for his accomplishments. Eighty-two percent (82%) of the 52 bench trials and 118 jury trials Christopher Yeazell first chaired resulted in favorable verdicts in the practice areas of Family and Criminal Law.
In his criminal practice, Christopher Yeazell has obtained one of only a very few "Not Guilty" verdicts on a first degree murder in the Pinellas County Courts in the past two decades. Christopher Yeazell has excelled in Family Law litigation, as well, and is frequently asked to take over Family Law cases from other local family law attorneys when they have reached the trial stage. Christopher Yeazell has litigated hundreds of Family Law cases involving complex child custody, alimony, and multi-million dollar equitable distribution issues. Christopher Yeazell's clientele has included business leaders and lawyers in our community, as well as, members of the National Football League (NFL).
Additionally, Christopher Yeazell appeared before the Florida Supreme Court on multiple occasions to challenge the constitutionality of various Florida Statutes. His intricate knowledge of Florida Law has led him to reverse decisions by the Circuit Court through the Second District Court of Appeals.
Christopher Yeazell has achieved numerous awards including the "Top Verdict Award" and "Attorney of the Year" runner up award in 2001, followed by a subsequent nomination for "Attorney of the Year in 2002." The same year, Christopher Yeazell obtained approximately 65,000 votes as a Judicial Candidate for Circuit Court Judge. He was endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police, the Police Benevolent Association, the National Organization of Women, and more than 300 local attorneys.
Known as a leader in the legal community, Christopher Yeazell has shared his knowledge with aspiring attorneys and established professionals through lectures and published works. Christopher Yeazell has lectured at Stetson University College of Law, Defender College, the Criminal Justice Academy, and for Public Defender clinics. His lectures cover a wide range of topics, including evidence, cross examination, opening and closing arguments, and direct examination.
Christopher Yeazell is a member of numerous legal organizations and associations. His memberships and affiliations have included the Florida State Bar, the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals 11th Circuit, the United States District Court (Middle District), the Clearwater Bar Association and the St. Petersburg Bar Association.
