BB was ordered deported back in 2000. Her TPS status had lapsed, and she was in the United States illegally. Her US citizen husband had filed a marriage petition. which had to be withdrawn for techni...cal reasons. BB hired Mr. Rios, who was able to get BB's TPS status, which had expired years before, reinstated, her deportation order was closed. Mr. Rios filed a new marriage petition for BB, which the Immigration Service approved.

SC had another immigration attorney, and her marriage petition had been denied because the Immigration Service the marriage was a fraud, and SC was placed in deportation proceedings. At that point, SC... hired Mr. Rios, who refiled the marriage petition, the Immigration Service approved the petition, and the Immigration Judge terminated (dismissed) SC's deportation charges. SC is now a lawful permanent resident, her deportation case never went to trial, and SC was NOT deported from the United States.

Mr. MA married a U.S. citizen, and was given a conditional residence by the USCIS (immigration service). He needed to remove the conditions on his residence, and had filed the appropriate I-751 petiti...on with his wife. However, USCIS issued a notice of intent to deny the case, claiming the marriage was not real. Mr. Rios was retained, and answered the USCIS notice with substantial and probative evidence. The USCIS approved the case without even interviewing the couple, and now Mr. MA has his Permanent Residence, and should be able to become a U.S. citizen shortly.

Mr. AT is from Russia, and faced severe persecution inhis home country. He requested asylum in the United States, which was denied by the Asylum Office in Miami, and Mr. AT was placed in removal (depo...rtation) proceedings. Mr. Rios was retained at that point. Several Master Calendar (preliminary) Hearings took place in the case, Mr. Rios filed a Motion to Terminate Proceedings (to dismiss the case) with the Immigration Judge, which the Judge granted. Mr. AT can now obtain his asylee status with the USCIS, and will be able to adjust his status shortly thereafter. He will be able to remain safely in the United States with his wife and baby boy.

Mr. W.A. Was detained by ICE because his student status had lapsed. Mr. Rios was retained for the case, Mr. W.A. was released from custody, Mr. Rios was able to get Mr. W.A.'s student status reinstate...d, and the Immigration Judge terminated the proceedings and the deportation case was closed. Mr. W.A. is still in the United States and pursuing his studies.

OUTCOME: In Absentia Proceedings Reopened, Removal Proceedings Terminated, the client was NOT deported.
Mrs. Z.G. filed for her citizenship, and at her interview, she was told she had been deported in absentia in 2003, that her citizenship application would have to be denied, and the deportation order wo...uld have to be executed. ZG then hired Mr. Rios, who conducted a lot of research into the case, and discovered that mistakes had been made in ZG's 2003 case. Mr. Rios promptly filed a motion to reopen the 2003 deportation case, the Immigration Judge not only reopened the case, but also terminated it, meaning that ZG's case was resolved without her even having to go personally to an Immigration Court. ZG's citizenship was subsequently approved, and she I'd living very happily in the United States with her family.
