Biography
Richard J. McKyton is a trial-experienced attorney based in St. Petersburg, representing individuals in criminal defense and personal injury matters. He graduated with Honors in Political Science from the University of Florida (1992) and earned his law degree Cum Laude from Stetson University College of Law (1995), participating on state- and national-winning trial teams. As an Assistant State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit (1995–1998), he prosecuted over 60 jury trials and worked on the office’s DUI Manslaughter Squad. After moving into private practice in 1998 and litigating a range of liability and medical-malpractice matters, he established his office at 1229 Central Avenue in 2001. He represents individuals (not corporations or insurers) in state and federal courts, is admitted to the Florida Bar (1995) and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and remains an active member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association.
