This lawyer changed my life in the most positive way!

Phil McLeod profiles himself as a “Collaborative Attorney”…but he”s had to be so much more than that for me. Let me begin this review by saying that I was married to an attorney for a number of years..and as a result my divorce was complex, difficult…and drawn out….Phil overcame every obstacle. He... responded to every challenge with calmness, persistence and professionalism. The divorce and resulting settlement has changed my life in a most positive way, simply because Phil wouldn’t walk away until I received what he felt was a fair and a proper settlement. Like many of my friends.. my opinion about attorneys hasn’t been positive…but Phil McLeod has forever changed my mind… He’s a genuine credit to his profession. A special shout out to his legal assistant of more than 30 years…Marge…"from the bottom of my heart Marge..thank you”. And to Phil McLeod…. from the bottom of my heart...thank you for all.

disinterested, inattentive, NOT recommended

Put forth very little effort. It was necessary to continually follow-up because he seemed otherwise distracted. He put forth the bare minimum effort to seemingly avoid malpractice but showed no inclination to, you know, give advice. When queried, he tended toward the "well, you never know" and "yo...u can't predict these things". So then I would need to further inquire with "then tell me in your experience..." and "surely you at least have a better idea of the reasonable possibilities...". He seemed to be absurdly disinclined to offer what one might call "a professional opinion." I realize attorneys need to be careful with their words but this gent goes beyond that to where it is obvious he would rather not be bothered. When questioned, he tends toward the defensive and becomes snappish. Go elsewhere if you seek involved, considerate advice. If you like a lawyer with experience but with minimal assertiveness, this is your guy.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
