Kalpesh J. Patel

Originally from Illinois, Kalpesh J. Patel made his way to Florida during law school and quickly made The Sunshine State home.

Patel earned degrees in Business Management and Business Administration at University of Illinois Springfield before earning a Juris Doctor with pro bono honors from Florida Coastal School of Law. He also studied international sales and international civil dispute resolution with  University of Miami School of Law. Throughout his schooling, Patel was student body representative, member of the Entrepreneurship Club, and involved in Habitat for Humanity and the Ronald McDonald House charities.

Patel’s diverse background in law and business development aided in the launch of his firm, The Law Offices of Kalpesh J. Patel, a Florida-based law firm offering services in business, immigration, and estate planning. He began his career in Illinois in January of 2013 where he was a 711 licensed law clerk with the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation. During that time, he appeared before county courts in Central Illinois helping senior citizens and victims of domestic violence. From there, he worked as a civil defense attorney with a prominent downtown Chicago law firm where he worked closely with Fortune 500 corporations. He gained the skills to become a top litigator which he took with him to start his first law firm, Wallock | Patel,  in Chicago where he provided legal counsel for start-up companies.

In addition to Patel’s formal schooling, he has government affairs experience through his work with theIllinois Petroleum Council where he worked closely with lobbyists and legislators. Patel has also worked for the University of Illinois Information Technology Center assisting and teaching professor and students how to use new technology in the classroom.  

To give back, Patel volunteers with several non-profit organizations in both Illinois and Florida. His passion for the arts led to his involvement withLawyers for the Creative Arts where he provides free legal services to financially eligible clients in all areas of the arts. In addition, Patel works closely with Lawyers in the Classroom for theConstitutional Rights Foundation Chicago. He leads interactive lessons with young students to help them better understand our legal system and develop critical thinking skills.

Patel immigrated with his family to the United States from India when he was 8 years old. He watched as his father, an engineer back in India, worked in a factory and later grew his own small business. After experiencing first-hand his parent’s struggles to make a better life for him and his three sisters, Patel  promised himself that he would become a lawyer to help families and businesses reach their goals and dreams.
