Jeffrey Miles Adams

Jeffrey M. Adams, born Joliet, Illnois, October 9, 1958; admitted to Florida and Illinois Bar in 1985; United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, 1985; United States Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit, 1987; United States Supreme Court, 1990.

While attending Stetson College of Law and prior to his admission to the Florida Bar, Mr. Adams clerked for the Firm.  After graduating, Mr. Adams was employed as an Associate with us.  Mr. Adams became a Partner on January 1, 1989.

Mr. Adams has professional experience in the following areas of insurance defense, motor vehicle law, uninsured motorist defense in both litigation and arbitration, bad faith defense, PIP claim defense, declaratory actions, fraud litigation, arson litigation, premises liability, industrial accidents and professional malpractice.

Mr. Adams has been a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer by the Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 1993.  Mr. Adams has been lead counsel in over one hundred jury trials.  In addition to insurance defense, Mr. Adams has served on numerous arbitration panels, conducted seminars regarding insurance defense, the state of the insurance industry and has testified as an expert on legal issues involving civil litigation.

Mr. Adams has served as a member to Leadership St. Petersburg Alumni; St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce; past Member of the Florida Bar Evidence Code and Rules Committee (1994-2000); Charter Fellow, Litigation Counsel of America;  while in college was a member of Phi Alpha Theta and Sigma Nu Phi(President 1983-1984); was selected by his peers as a Florida Super Lawyer for 2006, 2007 and 2008; Tampa Bay Sports Commission Chairman; St. Petersburg College Foundation board member.  Mr. Adams received a Governor's appointment to The Florida Sports Foundation's Board of Directors where he currently serves as Chairman.  Mr. Adams also received a congressional appointment from United States Congressman Connie Mack to serve on the Baseball Antitrust Advisory Commission where he had the pleasure to serve with Florida Governor Charlie Crist.
