I have been practicing law for over twenty years in the State of Florida in family law issues. I was born and raised in Kent, Ohio where my father had his own thriving general law practice. Growing up around the law field, I aspired to become a lawyer at a very young age. I received my undergraduate degree from the University Of Toledo and subsequently attended Ohio Northern School Of Law in Ada, Ohio. I relocated to sunny Florida after graduation and have been here ever since.
I worked several years for the State of Florida in child welfare in both Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties as well as in the private arena. I opened my own Law firm in 2005 and I have been practicing Family Law including matters of divorce, child support, child custody, domestic violence injunctions, stepparent and adoption as well as private dependency law including termination of parental rights. I currently have a contract with the State of Florida to represent indigent clients in dependency cases and have been on that contract for over ten years.
I have been actively involved with child welfare system since 1999 and have served as a child investigator, guardian ad litem, and have prosecuted as well as defended child abuse cases in the State of Florida. I am certified as parenting coordinator as well as a certirfied dependency and family law mediator for the 6th and 13th circuits in the State of Florida.
I am currently licensed to practice before The United States Supreme Court as well the Middle District of Florida.
I find that continuing my education in many fields involving families helps me understands the needs of my clients.
I am currently working as part of the Injunction for Protection Team for our Pinellas domestic violence center.
