Timothy George Hayes

I attended Florida State University (FSU) on an athletic scholarship (swimming) but after my sophmore year I gave up my scholarship in order to concentrate on my academic career.  While attending graduate school at FSU I worked as a clerk in the Florida Attorney General's Office.  Following graduation from FSU I worked as a legislative aide to a member of the Florida House of Representatives in his Tampa district office.  After two years as a legislative aide I enrolled at Stetson College of Law where I completed my law studies in 2.5 years.  After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1982 I began my law practice working for a civil rights attorney in Tampa, Florida.  A year later I went to work as an associate in a general practice law firm consisting of three partners.  A year later I became a partner in the firm where I remained for three years before branching out and starting my own law firm.

I have been appointed and served on several different local and regional governmental committees and authorities; most notable of which was the Tampa Bay Commuter Rail Authority which I served on as the Pasco County business representative for several years in the 1990's.

Over the years I have been very active in my local chamber of commerce where I have served as both President and Chairman.  I also have served on the Board of Directors of several local and county-wide non-profit organizations. Currently, I serve as the district legal counsel for the Lake Padgett Estates Independent Special District in Pasco County, Florida.
