Matthew Alan Crist

Matthew A. Crist practices personal injury, class action, commercial, and trucking litigation with the Tampa, Florida at his law firm, Crist Legal | PA.  Before becoming a plaintiffs' lawyer, Mr. Crist practiced commercial litigation in the Tampa office of an international law firm representing some of the largest companies in the world.  Mr. Crist also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Marcia Morales Howard, United States District Judge for the Middle District of Florida.  

After growing up in Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Crist attended the University of Florida where he served as the president of Delta Upsilon Fraternity, was the Public Relations Director for Homecoming 1998, and was inducted into Florida Blue Key.  After graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Political Science in 2000, he taught American History and Economics at Allen D. Nease High School in St. Augustine, Florida and served as the chairman of the School Advisory Committee.  In 2004, he returned to Gainesville to attend the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida.  While in law school, Mr. Crist was a member of the Justice Campbell Thornal Moot Court Team and served as its Special Events Chairman.  He graduated cum laude in 2006.

Mr. Crist is active in the Tampa community, legal and otherwise.  He is a member of The Florida Bar, the Florida Justice Association, the American Association for Justice, the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association, and the Hillsborough County Bar Association and is involved in working on special projects with the Children’s Cancer Center. 

Mr. Crist has been rated by his peers as “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating given.  Mr. Crist has also been repeatedly recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and Florida Trend’s Legal Elite as an Up and Comer.  He is admitted to practice in the state courts of Florida, the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
