Not sure who the others who rated Shazia with such praise but my experience has been one of nightmares. Showed up late or not at all to court. After being ATTACKED by my ex at my son’s dentist office I filed an injunction, she didn’t even bother to show up! Texted me and told me what to say. So... there I am in court with my ex, his criminal attorney and the judge. Scared to DEATH standing there not knowing what to say or do. Thankfully the DVI was granted but there I am attorneyless. She was just too busy to show up. Held documents and orders hostage threatening to withdraw unless I replenished my retainer. When I asked for a summary of charges (multiple times btw over multiple months) none was ever produced. Initially I was told her office asst was behind on billing but she knew I had gone through all of my retainer....interesting, then how did she know I was out of my retainer?? I had to be the proofreader for documents and point out inaccuracies. Even had the wrong Case No on a document that I had to point out to fix. Who knows if I was charged for it…never got a bill. Had a hearing in May where my ex was cited with supervised visitation (due to the attack at the dentist office). A very important fact needed later when I had to call the police because he was in violation of the above mentioned restraining order. But because she never bothered to generate the order for the judge to sign off on, I couldn’t pursue the violation which lead my ex to just continue violating the restraining order. Even after I demanded that she write one up, she refused. At our next hearing she had to admit to the judge that she forgot and wrote up an order but again failed mention anything about the supervised visitation….at that point I fired her. But before I did that, I had to argue with her about whether the order had been generated and signed. No lie, 10 emails back and forth where she argued with me whether it was done or not. Her assistant was copied on the emails…Finally had to point out that the clerk of court website said it had been signed for almost 2 weeks and miraculously poof the order is sent to me. Then I fired her. She gave me an Oscar award winning speech when I hired and she promised me the world….she gave me a headache and probably an ulcer. Good luck folks.
