The worst

The absolute worst attorney/person there is out there. Non responsive, no follow-up, makes excuses, and barely knows the legal system, Do not make the same mistake I did - read the reviews, do your research, and find someone else. As you can see, he doesn't care his reviews, otherwise he would make o...ne attempt to resolve the issues. I should have known from day one he was bad. He set the first meeting date/time, and then I had call several times just to wake him up at home. He didn't convey the information I provided to the process-server, who made 6 failed attempts, which I knew nothing about until after asking several times. Then he foolishly sent me their email which showed he sat on the information for several weeks. I had to work/pay directly with the process-server and had the person served in under 48 hours. Unfortunately, Ivan didn't send the proper documents (confirmed by the process sever), but by then It was too late. Tip - Check with the process servers who work with the attorney. They can tell you if the attorney is good or bad. He put my company name as the defendant, which can be amended, but never removed (at least so he says). This has caused issues for me as potential clients searched my company and found a pending lawsuit. Incorrect about the courts not taking cases, when I was at the courthouse myself, and they were if fact taking cases. BTW - He returned my call in under a minute when I told him I was there. Near the end of this two and half-year circus, when I asked why the case was still showing open on the courts website , his response was "I don't know". I contacted the judges assistant, and ultimately it was still open due to Ivan's improper paperwork filing. I forwarded this information and he responded "If you are set on having the case closed out, we can dismiss the lawsuit against the company.", and I said "yes, lets close this out". After two months and asking, he finally said "The case is closed out. Please move one.", but it is not, as per the email from the judges assistant, the website, and by his own admission. He didn't like me pointing this out and his next response was "Our representation has concluded. I wish you the best luck." and then shortly after he wrote "There has been an adversarial relationship that has developed between us, and I am not comfortable representing you no longer in this matter. I will file a motion to withdraw next week, and set it for a hearing.". Funny how he can file a motion to separate, but not a simple voluntary dismissal to close the case and make the customer happy. This is an attorney who doesn't want to complete the job he was hired for, and doesn't like to admit when he has made a mistake. So of instead of correctly his oversight, he cuts you off. By the way every document he sent me had to be proofed and/or altered by me because of misspelled words, wrong dates, incorrect names etc.

Poor

Poor representation, poor knowledge of Florida law, misrepresented his services. Full of it, took money then quit and lost the case.

Never returns calls or finishes a case

He started out ok but since he got most of the case done he quit answering my calls or texts or emails. Made many mistakes on the paperwork that I had to have him fix. Just looking to finish everything and not keep it hanging over our family's head.

Lack of communication and very, poor quality work

Ivan took his fee for a demand letter. We texted and called him for updates and never got a reply until we filed a dispute with credit card company for a refund for lack of services. It took filing the dispute and over 30 days from him actually communicating with us. Worst, he would not call when he ...said he would. I do not recommend this attorney. After dispute, he finally sent proof that a letter was sent (unprofessionally emailed), he had received a response (still did not communicate what the response was!) from letter, trying to incite parties to go to court on issues a competent attorney could have settled out of court, and no acknowledgement concerning any emails/correspondence sent to him from us UNTIL a dispute was filed. Due to the fee, his hourly rate must be about $1500/hour, because there apparently was not time spend on communicating with his clients, much less time taken to prepare quality and thoughtful case to settle issues without an unneccessary, expensive court case! Worst yet, all he had to do was send proof to credit card company that there was a service rendered. Instead he threatened me and if I did not respond in 24 hours, he was having me prosecuted by the state attorney's office! This was day after he sent the proof that a demand letter had actually been sent. The letter that had been emailed 32 days prior with no communication from him concerning any updates. No we do not recommend him.

"I endorse this lawyer's work. Ivan has an outstanding knowledge of seemingly all things real estate. I have referred many former and current clients to him for help with foreclosure issues, real estate closings, and numerous other real estate issues. Having had the opportunity to observe him relate to his cleints, he absolutely takes a compassionate, client oriented approach. I would not only recommend him to anyone seeking a real estate attorney, I would have no reservations using him myself."
