Terry Jones is a proud retired United States Marine. Terry spent more than 20 years serving in law enforcement, excelling in every area he worked in. His law enforcement career was followed up by Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Management.
He attended Florida Coastal School of Law and worked as an intern for the Public Defender’s office. After graduating law school, Terry later served as an Assistant State Attorney for Volusia County, where he was quickly promoted to felony. A clear path to Criminal Defense was cut.

Replied last April 15, 2026We sincerely regret your dissatisfaction with the outcome of your case. As you are aware, you were charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and improper exhibition of a weapon on school grounds, all third-degree felonies carrying a potential exposure of up to 15 years in prison. At the outset, the State’s offer was 18 months in prison. Through our efforts, we were able to negotiate that offer down to probation, which aligned with your initial request. Despite the State’s resistance, we successfully advocated for a non-incarcerative resolution. When you initially declined the probation offer, we were fully prepared to proceed to trial and pursue a favorable verdict, consistent with our strong track record of success. Ultimately, just prior to trial, you chose to accept the State’s probation offer. Additionally, we secured a withhold of adjudication over the State’s objection, meaning you do not have a formal conviction on your record. While we understand your frustration, we believe the outcome achieved was highly favorable given the seriousness of the charges and the potential penalties involved. Nevertheless, we regret that you are not fully satisfied. We wish you the best in your future endeavors. At this time, we consider this matter closed
