We had court today and this Public Defender did not do at all what she said she was gonna do when my fiance first went to jail. This is regarding a VOP (Curfew Violation). Originally when he first went in she stated that she needed all the witnesses names and numbers so that a private investigator ...could contact us all and they were given to her immediately!! I told her and so did he when she went to see him that I had all the paperwork that she needed and she said bring it to court and the witnesses too. Not once did she ask for the info to review before court so we figured that she would take that time before court to review it all! So I did as she requested and ALL of us were in court as instructed also but once we got to court... She didn't even speak to any of us until after she went and told the judge she wanted to take it to trial or whatever you call it when they put it off and my fiance was taken out the courtroom. It was scheduled off for a month. She didn't even speak to my fiance to discuss or give him a choice as to what was going on, it was just this is what I am doing and that's it!!!! Like it or not! She gave him wrong info when she did speak to him for literally 2 minutes cause she was too much in a rush! I spoke to several lawyers after court and they stated that he/we were given incorrect info as to the time he was looking at IF he pleaded guilty and she told us that he would be getting out the next court date but definatley on a ankle monitor cause that is what his PO is recommending but when consulting with actual lawyers they all told me that she is a "Public Defender" and how is she defending him? Sounds like she is working for the prosecutor if you ask me!!
