Jeffrey Carter Andersen

Experience
Carter Andersen has extensive experience handling complex civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts and in alternative dispute resolution settings, including arbitration and mediation.  Mr. Andersen handles construction and real estate disputes, professional malpractice matters, trade secret disputes, commercial contract disputes and other general commercial litigation matters.  Mr. Andersen is certified as a Mediator by the Florida Supreme Court.  Before joining Bush Ross, Mr. Andersen practiced general commercial litigation with Jones, Day in Washington, D.C.  Mr. Andersen also has extensive experience in complex public financings within Florida.

Mr. Andersen is admitted to practice in Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle,Southern and Northern Districts of Florida and the District of Columbia.

Recognitions, Associations and Professional Activities
Mr. Andersen is an active member of The Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.  Mr. Andersen currently serves on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida.  Mr. Andersen also serves on the Hillsborough County Bar Association's Board of Directors and formerly served as Chair of the Mediators and Arbitrators Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association.  Mr. Andersen is a graduate of the Leadership Tampa Class of 2006 and served on the Board of Leadership Tampa Alumni from 2006 to 2009.  He has been active in a variety of community and civic activities including being a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, serving on the All Children’s Hospital Development Council, serving as a volunteer tutor at Academy Prep Center of Tampa, and serving on the Board for Tampa Bay Little League.  He served as the President of the Christ the King Catholic School Dads Club from 2008 to 2010.  Mr. Andersen was recognized in 2007 as the Outstanding Young Alumnus by the University of Florida Levin College of Law and is the Immediate Past-President of the UF Law Alumni Council.  From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Andersen was a Pupil and then a Barrister in the Tampa Bay Inn Chapter of the American Inns of Court.  Mr. Andersen has been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America in 2010 and 2011.  He also has been named to Florida's "Up & Coming Legal Elite" by Florida Trend Magazine from 2006 to 2009, and as a "Rising Star" by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine in 2008 and 2009.  Mr. Andersen has been awarded an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Andersen was born in Gainesville, Florida and raised in Tampa, Florida and Alexandria, Virginia.
