Fay Elizabeth Ryan

Fay E. Ryan is a Partner at Butler Pappas. Fay joined the firm in January 2001, after moving to Tampa from Palm Beach County, Florida.  Fay received her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude and with honors, from Boston College in 1989 and her Juris Doctorate degree, with honors, from the University of Florida College of Law in 1992. While in law school, Fay earned the American Jurisprudence Award in Contracts, Estates and Trusts, English Legal History, and Legal Drafting. She is a member of the Order of the Coif, a national honor society for law school graduates in the top ten percent of their class.

She served as an Assistant Public Defender for several years following law school, during which time she tried over fifty jury trials and approximately thirty non-jury trials.

Fay specializes in extracontractual matters, third party coverage, with an emphasis on construction defect coverage, and complex liability defense. She has been published in Mealey's Litigation Report: Bad Faith, For The Defense. Fay has also recently contributed to the DRI's Florida chapter of a multi-state compendium titled, The Professional Liability Insurance Coverage: A Compendium of State Law.  Fay is a member of The Florida Bar. She is admitted to practice before all state courts in Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
