I have practiced law for over twenty years in New York and now in Florida. My favorite moments in my professional life are when I am able to cut through the legal fog for a client, and show them how they can save surprising amounts of money, anxiety and trouble by following a particular path. While I am a natural counselor and advisor who would rather come alongside someone and work with them, I have also been a litigator for most of my twenty plus years of practice, and my clients often value that fierce advocate part of my personality.
One of the most rewarding areas of my practice currently is helping clients prepare themselves for some of life’s greatest challenges; laying down plans for protecting and providing for their families in the event they become incapacitated or pass away. I do estate planning because it is something that everyone needs, not just wealthy older people, but also young people and families who are just starting out. With my office, estate planning is not just about drafting a will, but is more about controlling your property while you are still alive; providing for yourself and your loved ones if you become disabled; and when you die, giving what you have to whom you want, when you want, how you want, while saving every penny possible in taxes, attorney’s fees and costs.
I am a native of Brooklyn, New York and am licensed to practice law in New York and Florida. I live in Land O Lakes, Florida with my wife and son, and we have two grown children. I am active in my local church, am a former foster father, and serve on the board of directors for a local foster care home for up to 28 children. My favorite thing to do outside of the office is fishing or watching superhero movies with my boy.

HONEST, PROFESSIONAL AND RESULT ORIENTED!
I had a case in FLA. I was sued for a NON-COMPETE by an employer in FLA. I lived in Massachusetts. I received an unsolicited letter from Atty. Gegan. After interviewing several candidates I went with Atty Gegan and I am glad I did. He was forthwith what he thought would happen and the charges. ...

I have had the pleasure of being represented by this firm for more than 10 years, both on a corporate and a personal level, and found Ed and the entire staff to be very professional, responsive and VERY successful both in and out of the courtroom setting. Ed is literally my "go to guy" on all matter...
"Ed brings tremendous enthusiasm to estate planning. All his litigation experience gives him the ability to spot deep issues and potential pitfalls in an estate plan. Ed's ability to think through step 1 and examine the possibilities of what will happen in the future gives his clients greater peace of mind that their plan will work the way they intend. Collaborating with Ed was an excellent experience and I would be delighted to work with him in the future. You would be well served by choosing Ed to help plan your estate."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Ed through the law firms we have worked at together. Ed is affiliated with various estate planning organizations that foster professional excellence. Ed is a compassionate and knowledgeable estate planning attorney, and is meticulous in his work product. He cares about his clients and makes complicated estate planning concepts easy to understand to all of his clients. I endorse Ed as an exceptional estate planning attorney practicing in the Tampa Bay area."
"I work with Mr. Gegan who is extremely knowledgeable in many areas of law, specifically estate planning. He is meticulous to ensure assets are protected both prior to and subsequent to an individual's death. An estate plan saves the heirs the costly expense of probate, which may be limited or avoided with the benefit of an estate plan. It also plans for retirement and plans for the benefits of children. Mr. Gegan goes to great lengths to ensure every client is satisfied and understands and is happy with their estate plan. Estate planning covers many topics such as trusts, wills, power of attorneys, health care surrogates, just to name a few items. Mr. Gegan is also very active in the community and speaks to financial advisers informing them on the subject of estate planning. If you are seeking a reputable and ethical estate planning attorney, I highly recommend Mr. Gegan for all of your estate planning needs."
