Laurel Corkrean Ackley

I hired Laurel Ackley, Esq., in Sept. 2025 to write a custom, short legal document that was needed by a quickly approaching deadline. She took my money then ghosted me for weeks. I was forced to fire her, as the deadline was approaching, and she then refused to give me my money back. So no work done;... good money gone to waste.

"I hired Laurel March 2024!!! Despite providing all required documentation within weeks of my daughter's birth, (April 2024) progress in obtaining her initial birth certificate had been frustratingly slow. I ultimately took it upon myself to file for and obtain my daughter's birth certificate an...d Social Security card, a process that took only 12days. This experience had raised concerns about the level of attention and dedication provided by Laurel Ackley and office. But I stuck with her despite the constant setbacks. While I understand that attorneys have busy schedules, the lack of timely communication, preparation, and proactive engagement was disappointing. It is concerning that despite a clear and straightforward case, we are now six months past the judgment hearing, with the final birth certificate still not obtained. I was repeatedly reassured by Laurel Ackley that her office would handle all necessary paperwork and procedures, but yet again I was let down, Despite repeated attempts to reach out and follow up, excuses for delays have been provided, ranging from court closures and hurricanes to illness. However, recent inquiries have revealed that the paperwork was never even submitted to the Vital Statistics department, as I was initially led to believe by Laurel! This situation has prompted me to question the value of legal representation in this instance, particularly given the significant costs incurred. Bottom line, It just saddens me that this experience wasn't handled with the care it deserved.
