Robert M. Downey was born in Mineola, New York. Mr. Downey attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. where he received his Bachelor of Science degree, with honors. Following college, Mr. Downey attended the University of Miami School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor (Law) degree. Following his graduation from the Merchant Marine Academy, Robert Downey served six years as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve, both as a Lieutenant JG and a Lieutenant. Mr. Downey is registered to practice as a patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Downey was formerly with the firm Malloy & Malloy, P.A. in Miami and started his owned Intellectual Property Law practice in 1993. Robert and his wife Angela married in 1988 and have 2 sons, John and Robert Jr.
