Joseph Anthony Osborne Jr.

Most recently, in November 2014, Joe obtained a 26.7 million dollar verdict as lead counsel in the Southern District of Florida on behalf of four clients who suffered injuries from Boston Scientific's Pinnacle Pelvic Floor Repair Kit. The Pinnacle mesh kit is implanted for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Each client was awarded an average of 6.6 million dollars in compensatory damages due to injuries suffered from the defective design of the product.

He was actively involved in all aspects against Bayer Pharmaceutical including document review, depositions of Bayer witnesses, expert preparation and presenting and taking depositions of experts. I also prosecuted one of the bellwether cases from that litigation (Rodriguez v. Bayer, Case No. 1:08-MD-01928) which was settled before trial.

Miller, Jr.; and, (3) Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II Hip Implant Products Liability Litigation (MDL No; 13-2441) before the Honorable Donovan W. Frank.

He has been appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the In Re: American Medical Systems, Inc., Pelvic Repair Systems Product Liability Litigation (MDL No. 2325); In Re: C.R. Bard, Inc., Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation (MDL 2187); In Re: Boston Scientific Corp. Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation (MDL 2326); In Re: Ethicon, Inc., Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation (MDL 2327) all before the Honorable Chief Judge Joseph R. Goodwin pending in Charleston, West Virginia. He has tried to verdict two bellwether transvaginal mesh cases against Boston Scientific which involved reaching a verdict of $26.7 million in Miami, Florida in November, 2014.
