He issued formal, threatening legal demands against homeowners based entirely on unverified, fabricated allegations fed to him by a single board member—an individual who was later removed from the board for failing to meet statutory payment obligations (Florida Statute §720.303(10)(a)). ​Instead of investigating these claims or maintaining the impartiality required of an association attorney, Mr. Casanover functioned as an instrument of retaliation. He accepted hearsay as fact, ignored the lack of corroborating evidence, and pursued a course of action that was not only ethically questionable but functionally destructive to the community he was hired to protect. ​What is most concerning about this experience—and why I offer this warning—is the complete surrender of professional judgment.
