Ms. Furr-Colton is an outstanding marital and family lawyer. Knows the law and technical matters cold. More importantly, thinks hard about all the emotional dimensions of family law and helped really guide me to making good decisions in my own long term interest.
Jodi Colton was highly recommended to me by a trusted friend who is an attorney after Ms. Colton handled her divorce case perfectly. I hired her in 2018 after interviewing several well recommended divorce attorneys, and I am so glad that I did! She is very smart and professional, yet also very compassionate. She answered all my phone calls and emails promptly, in details. Whatever the other side hurled at us, she always came up with a great response and solution. I was never left wondering what I was suppose to do. Facing divorce could be such an emotionally difficult time and she has been the voice of reason and wisdom that I came to trust during that time. She knew when to stand our ground and fight and when to make compromises for the long term good. She knew what were important to me and she made sure I was satisfied with the outcome. The settlement agreement and parenting plan she drafted were all well versed and covered details that could have escaped not so well trained minds (there were a couple of times after divorce my ex tried to take advantage of me and when I checked what he claimed against the settlement agreement, it was clearly stated there that I was not responsible, ha!). While I wouldn’t wish anyone to go through a divorce, but when it comes to that, Jodi is your absolute best choice for an attorney. You’ll thank yourself later like I did. I would recommend her wholeheartedly, without any reservation.

A rare combination of brains and communication skills
Jodi Colton represented me in a long, financially and emotionally complicated divorce case. She not only has a superior legal brain, but is equally able to communicate her tactics in writing in a compelling and concise manner. At every step of my case, I knew she was three steps ahead. I also found her a comforting, pleasant, humorous good human being who tried to build bridges with all involved in my case. I can not recommend her highly enough.

Excellent to work with. Very highly recommended
We hired Jodi to replace an incompetent attorney and untangle a messy situation with a difficult counter-party, multiple failed mediations and a poorly constructed original marital settlement agreement. Our case was not overly complicated, but required an unusual amount of determination and resolve to bring the opposing side to settlement.
Jodi and her team at Brinkley Morgan were highly professional, responsive and thorough, while also pleasant and efficient to work with. Exactly what we needed to help with a challenging situation.
I would be delighted to recommend Jodi to others looking for help with matters related to marital and family law.
