Andrew Merlo is a fabulous attorney in the field of family law. He was able to research every possible approach to helping my son out of a serious paternity obligation. Via his thourough research into my son's wife's marital history he discovered my son was not the legal father of their child and alt...hough we knew he wasn't the biologic father via DNA, my son had signed a birth certificate stating he was the father. Mr. Merlo was able to represent my son and deal with extremely complex issues and handle my son's ex wife in a most gentle and kind fashion as he guided her in seeing what was best for all parties. Mr Merlo navigated through treacherous waters to achieve a wonderful outcome for my son before an extremely knowledgable , meticulous and thorough Judge. The Judge praised him for his careful and concise application of the law. We were able to shorten a lengthy and circuitous legal road to achieve the desired result . I have significant experience with attorneys and litigation, and based on my experience with Mr. Merlo, I found his style of handling my sensitive divorce to be unsettling at best. He proclaimed his expertise was "big picture", but often the details cannot be overlooked at the expense of grandiose s...howmanship. He executed with an unfamiliarity of legal arguments based on case law required to skillfully defend my complicated matter. He possessed an inability or just plain disinterest to follow through with basic components of critical tasks required in my case, made several technical errors that I noticed (I am not a lawyer) that could have cost me significantly if not caught in time, was extremely poorly equipped or seemingly inexperienced to properly handle the complex legal matters associated and was unfamiliar with the details of my case after months of being retained. Mr. Merlo is a nice and pleasant man, just fell short in providing the service required in my case.
