David B. Norris

David Norris was the managing partner at Cohen Norris during the time I was represented in a civil case that ultimately collapsed due to severe procedural misconduct by the firm. I reached out to him directly after my attorneys abruptly withdrew without providing my case file or a transition plan. He... acknowledged my concern, confirmed receipt of my request, and said the firm would follow up, but no help ever came. Mr. Norris failed to take any corrective action even after being notified that I was left without legal representation just before critical court deadlines. He personally approved a new retainer agreement that introduced inflated rates and tied in my unrelated business, creating an ethical conflict. These tactics delayed my ability to find new counsel, obstructed due process, and ultimately contributed to the dismissal of my claims. His lack of oversight, failure to ensure ethical compliance among the firm’s attorneys, and silence in the face of procedural damage caused me long-term harm. As a managing partner, he had the power and responsibility to intervene, but he chose not to. I do not recommend David Norris to anyone seeking principled leadership or responsible legal oversight.
