I hired Mark when I found a problem with a title to a house I bought with my ex-wife. I was obligated, under a divorce decree, to turn it to her with a clear title so hired Mark to do that. I paid him a lot of money then found a problem with his billing. Specifically, he billed me for preparing an ou...t-of-state subpoena one day then billed me for researching how to do so at a later date. When confronted his assistant told me "that's how this business works." I fired him. I wrote directly to the bank attorney explaining what happened, telling her I'd hire a new lawyer, and all I wanted was a proper release. She immediately agreed to it. Literally: she didn't bat an eye. Mark dragged out litigation, arguably filing a lawsuit when a phone call - or maybe a letter - should have been enough.
