James Nelson Brown

James Brown is an amazing attorney and has the best staff in town! He has represented both us on our own real estate transaction (as our attorney when we purchased a home) as well as our company clients for title and escrow. He and his staff keep everyone informed throughout the process. We have work...ed with Mr. Brown and his staff on foreclosure defense, short sales, regular real estate closings, leases and trusts. He gives an honest opinion to allow the best decision to be made. We highly recommend Mr. Brown and his services - we wish we could give him a 6 star but this site only allows for 5!

After hiring Mr. Brown he stated he would represent me in court during my foreclosure case. I thought I was fairly clear about wanting to do everything I could in an attempt to save my home. Mr. Brown started my case, answered and affirmed defenses and then just stopped doing anything. Two months bef...ore my hearing he put in a motion to withdraw as my counsel. I was not receiving any of the pleadings or documents because they were served to Mr. Brown's office and not to me. I found out about the hearing a few days before and called him. He sent a lawyer that had no idea about my case and did nothing to defend me in court. The Judge wouldn't even let me speak about my case. I called the attorney, still naively expecting him to give me an honest answer and he told me I should just file for bankruptcy. He didn't adequately recuse himself, So I still received NO pleadings or legal proceedings. I had been communicating with the bank as they kept telling me to send in paperwork to evaluate me for HAMP and I believed I would receive it. Now I'm past foreclosure sale trying to appeal in an effort to save my home, and FINALLY after a year he finally withdrew off my case after I called and exchanged several emails with him. All he did was make excuses for his behavior. The least he could have done was forward the proceedings to me so that I could have defended myself. I will be filing a formal complaint against the bar.
