As a South Florida native, Eric attended the Pine Crest Preparatory School in Ft. Lauderdale. Eric then pursued his undergraduate studies at Washington and Lee University as a pre-med student, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1998. During his undergraduate studies, Eric authored his senior thesis on lesions of the hippocampus as related to short-term memory and published articles in the field of neurophysiology. Eric’s knowledge and understanding of medicine provides him with an enormous advantage in understanding the complexity of your particular case and the injuries involved.
Eric earned his Masters of Science in Management in 2001 from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida School of Law in 2002. As a law student, Eric gained valuable experience during his clerkship with the Honorable Judge Barry Stone of the Fourth District Court of Appeals and graduated from the University of Florida Law School with honors.
Following graduation from law school, Eric worked for three years as a trial attorney with the Office of the State Attorney, Seventeenth Judicial Circuit, in Broward County, Florida. Not only did Eric receive extensive and valuable courtroom training during his time there, but he also met his wife, Stefanie, co-founder of Ginnis & Krathen. By and through his firm, Eric combines his medical background, extensive education, and valuable experience to provide outstanding and successful representation to you, the injured plaintiff.
Eric is an extraordinary accident attorney in Florida, focusing on personal injury, wrongful death and complex medical malpractice cases. He is an active member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Broward County Bar Association and a lifetime member of the Multi-Million and Million Dollar Advocates Forum, one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States.
In January 2012, Eric was selected as a member of the National Trial Lawyers Association’s (“NTLA”) “Top 40 Under 40″. The NTLA’s “Top 40 Under 40″ is a professional organization of America’s top young trial attorneys. Membership into the group is exclusively by invitation and is extended only to those individuals who exemplify superior qualifications, trial results and leadership as trial attorneys. In addition to this prestigious recognition, Mr. Ginnis also serves on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee. Mr. Ginnis is a lifetime Member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and has served as first chair litigation attorney in over 80 jury trials to verdict. This is an organization limited to attorneys who have obtained judgments or settlements in excess of $2,000,.
In 2017, Eric was appointed as Chairman of the 17th Circuit I Grievance Committee, which investigates possible lawyer misconduct that is brought up by the Florida Bar. He had previously served as Vice-Chair of this committee.
