The Expert!

WIth pleasure I write this review of G. Ware Cornell. I was referred to Ware when I began to be harassed by an employer for reporting a harassment issue. I reported the claim to the HR department of a large company as I was obligated to due by law. Initially, I trusted the HR department would do wh...at they are legally and morally obligated to do in such a case. When they didn't and began to harass me for reporting the claim, I contacted Ware. Ware was very competent and attentive. He answered my numerous questions and was available whenever I needed him. He was so good, in fact, it was obvious his skill level and reputation intimidated his opponents. It lightened my burden and stress to see him in action. When meeting with opposing counsel, they knew they no longer had control of the situation and I could no longer be bullied. Additionally, I was happy with the settlement. Ware's fees were also very fair, especially since he spent a lot of time working the case. Without Ware, this situation would have been unbearable and there would have been noone to hold the employer accountable for their actions. I saw the negative reivew for Ware and do not believe any of the comments could be reliable based on my experience with him. Since then, I have referred Ware to several other clients and they too received the same kind of experienced and professional care as I. Should you find yourself facing a legal issue with an employer, Ware Cornell is an excellent attorney to have in your corner.

Success Twice and Looking for a Third

I've used Ware twice in the last three years and I'm close to hiring him again for a third time. I was involved in a business deal/loan that went south with the economy. The counter party was not honoring his commitment per our contract so I had to take it to the next level. I contacted Ware for gui...dance and he immediately mastered the issue and had a plan for next steps. We filed and won a judgement for outstanding debt, interest and legal fees totaling over $340k. They have been paying their debt down for the last 3 years and I am now almost whole. The second issue was a little out of his expertise but, he again immediately grasped the issue and helped with next steps. I won't go into this problem as it was more of a personal issue but, with Ware's help, the issue was resolved almost immediately. This time there was no money to win or loose but, rather an end to a disturbing problem. Money well spent. Because of my complete satisfaction from my first two issues, I'm about to hire him for a third. This time it's regarding significant damage to my property resulting from a neighbor's previously damaged tree and a recent afternoon storm which neither his insurance nor mine are willing to step up and take financial responsibility. I have complete confidence Ware will get to the root of the issue and we'll have a successful outcome in short order. I recommended Ware to my girlfriend in her dispute with a former employer in the entertainment industry and once again he came through with an efficient equitable solution for both parties. Ware is very sharp minded and thoughtful and has been a lawyer in South Florida for many years. His wisdom, legal network and expertise is hard to find in especially in South Florida. He is a well known and reputable lawyer and I would recommend him to anyone needing significant legal help/litigation expertise.

Smart and humorous, but also arrogant and disorganized

I met with Ware when he was recommended by a friend. I liked him right away, and I hired him. It was my first time hiring an attorney, and I should have asked him more questions to understand his work style. But I liked him and trusted my friend's recommendation. I would have been happier working... with an organized, strategic planner. If I had received a phone call or email every couple of months with an update on my case, that would have been better. Had Ware spelled out the specifics of my financial obligations to him up front instead of sending me seemingly random and sporadic invoices, I would have trusted him more. But what really bothered me is that Ware took away ownership of my case. I told him I wanted to be at all the depositions for my case, but instead he held them without my knowledge. He did not consult with me to learn details that these depositions could have brought to light. I never heard from him after depositions with a summary of what took place. As I see it, this was my case, and Ware was there to help me, but he seemed to think I had little role in it. In the end, the real value of my case was over 200K less than his original estimate. When did he break this news to me? On the morning before the final mediation. It's been two years since my case concluded, and I waited to write this review because I wanted to see if time would soften my perspective. In the past two years, I've gotten to know dozens of attorneys through my current job, and have a clearer picture of attorneys can potentially operate. They can be organized. They can be transparent communicators. They can keep their clients in the loop. But Ware doesn't.

Client Review

Mr. Cornell filed three lawsuits on my behalf involving the same facts and the exact same matter by splitting the defendants. From the onset I requested that Mr. Cornell add all of the responsible parties in one lawsuit. He informed me that legally I could not. Four years later, I would discover f...rom another attorney and a state court judge just the opposite. Legally there should have been only one lawsuit. Mr. Cornell had informed me four years ealier just the opposite. There are basic principles in the law that prohibit and discourage this type behavior. Mr. Cornell ignored the common nucleus-of operative-facts doctrine, defensive collateral estoppel and collateral estoppel during four years of litigation. His actions proved a financial disaster for me, his former client. Mr. Cornell withdrew as counsel after causing this disaster. As a result of his behavior, I incurred an enormous amount of unnecessary legal expenses, court cost and proved a total waste of time.

The client obtained a six figure verdict, and was disappointed he did not recover much more. I was too, but the client wished to proceed further on a contingency basis and we did. I was unsuccessful in those efforts. As a result, the client incurred some costs, while we invested an enormous amount of time for which we did not recover seeking justice for this individual. I am proud of the work I did on his behalf. Anyone wishing to see the briefs and memoranda we prepared, I will be pleased to forward a copy.

NOT RECCOMENDED. VERY BAD

took $3500.00 then withdraws without ever doing sufficent work to respond to pending motions used for age discrimination case. this caused me to have a $600.00 judgment against me. When asked if they would fix the situation they just said I should pay the money.

We accepted the client in questions age discrimination case and took it through discovery and into mediation. In his deposition two days before the mediation he admitted that in a unpublished 10th Circuit case, the United States District Court had found that his expulsion from pharmacy school for plagiarism was "substantially true" The client in question failed to show up on time for the mediation two days later even though he had verbal and written notice of the mediation. The Court assessed a fees of the mediator against the client personally for his arriving two hours late for the mediation. Over a year latter, he has not paid it. The client demanded that we pay his assessment and said that if we did not he would file a negative report on Avvo, which he did. I moved to withdraw when the Defendant moved for summary judgment because in my opinion I could not file anything on his behalf which would not be frivolous. As an officer of the court, I am precluded from wasting the court's time on a matter which is meritless, a condition we learned two days before mediation.
