Joseph Baron Heimovics

Joseph B. Heimovics, Esq., opened his own law firm in Weston, Florida in July 2010. He previously had been practicing in Boca Raton for over ten years, most recently as a principal with the law firm of Graner & Heimovics, P.A. As a sole practitioner, Joe handles a wide variety of legal matters for his various corporate and individual clients, but primarily focuses practice on both commercial litigation and business transactions, with particular emphasis in the areas of corporate, banking, real estate and construction law. His clients include all forms of business entities and individuals, and he represents both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court. He has successfully represented clients in both general and complex commercial matters, has experience negotiating multi-million dollar transactions, and has represented the prevailing party in more than ten appeals. Joe is a member of the both the Florida Bar and State Bar of Georgia, and has also been admitted to practice before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeal, the Southern District in Florida and the Northern District of Georgia.

Joe graduated from the University of Florida, wherein he received his B.A. in Political Science in 1991 and then he attended Stetson University School of Law, wherein he received his J.D. in 1994. Following law school, Joe served a one-year judicial clerkship with Justice Paula A. Nakayama on the Hawaii Supreme Court. After his clerkship and before relocating to Florida, Joe worked in Atlanta for a few years both in the private sector and then with the federal government. He is the past president and current board member of the Broward Professional Alliance, Inc., and also serves on the Board of Advisors for the Center for Urologic Research, Education and Diseases (CURED), which is the private philanthropic research arm of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Department of Urology.
