James is an attorney who is passionate about advocating for the needs and rights of others. His years of legal experience in a variety of practice areas have helped build a strong foundation of skills and knowledge necessary to serve his clients well.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia and oldest of six children, James developed a resourceful, inquisitive personality early in life. These traits have been advantageous in his legal work, as he is always intent on finding the most efficient, effective solutions for his clients.
After graduating high school, James attended Brigham Young University on an ROTC scholarship. He took a two year hiatus to serve as a missionary in Lima, Peru. Upon his return, he completed his B.A. degree in Communications. James is fluent in Spanish, and proficient in Quechua, Portuguese, and American Sign Language. He finds his work with the Latino community especially rewarding.
While applying to law schools, James was ready to leave behind the long, cold Utah winters and return to his Southern roots. Ultimately he chose to attend the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Throughout law school, James clerked at a variety of law firms. He gained real world experience in bankruptcy, white collar criminal defense, family law, and insurance defense. James graduated from law school in 2012. His insurance defense work during law school carried over to his initial employment as an attorney, working for large firms defending major insurance corporations. He enjoyed working on fraud investigation and acquiring experience in litigation.
Seeing an opportunity to have a positive influence in his community, James started his own firm in 2015. He has been happily married to his wife Lindsey for eight years and is the proud father of two young boys. He most enjoys spending time with them, whether it be fishing, camping, or vacationing at Disney World. He is also actively involved in his church and community, and loves to volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.

"Personally, as an attorney, I would probably hire any attorney I would find that seems to "light up" when they talk about a legal issue. Mr. Potts lights up when met with difficult or challenging tasks in litigation issues. So, I'd hire him if I needed something down there."
