Gabriela Espaillat

Gabriela Espaillat was born in New York City and raised between Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and South Florida, where she has lived for the past 14 years. The daughter of Dominican immigrants, she learned early the importance of hard work, determination, and service to others.

Gabriela earned her bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Miami in 2014 and her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University College of Law in 2019. While in law school, she distinguished herself on the St. Thomas Trial Team, serving as Vice President of Finance, competing in multiple statewide competitions, and earning the title of Best Advocate in the 2018 Intramural Competition.

Since graduating, Gabriela has actively mentored future trial lawyers. She has served as a coach for the St. Thomas Trial Team since 2019, guiding students to multiple victories in state and national competitions and has served as an Associate Faculty Advisor for the team since 2024.

Gabriela began her legal career advocating for indigent clients at the Miami-Dade and Broward County Public Defender’s Offices, where she handled thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to life felonies and tried numerous cases to verdict. She later practiced insurance defense litigation, gaining valuable insight into how insurance companies evaluate and defend claims—experience that ultimately inspired her to transition to plaintiff’s work and fight for injured individuals.

Today at Rubenstein Law, Gabriela brings her passion for advocacy to every personal injury case she handles. She is committed to providing zealous representation, ensuring her clients are informed, supported, and protected at every stage of the legal process. Gabriela is dedicated to assisting clients in both English and Spanish.

Outside the office, Gabriela enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, reading, tennis, and catching a baseball game.
