I hired Mr. William Moore to defend me in a case in which I had been falsely accused by an ex- girlfriend of domestic battery. It appeared that she gave my name after being assaulted in a park. She went to the hospital for treatment and when police arrived, gave my name. Her report to the police resu...lted in a warrant for my arrest and the State of Florida bringing charges against me. I hadn’t seen her for at least 6 years, and was no where near her when the alleged incident occurred. In fact, I was actually in a different city, hundreds of miles away. I only found out about the charges against me after applying for a job and being informed by the prospective employer that there was a warrant out for my arrest. It appears that in such cases, the accuser can simply provide a name and a felony charge results, no witnesses or proof required. I have since learned that this occurs often, whether in revenge for a broken relationship, or to protect someone else. It’s used as a way to really screw up someone’s life. I was victimized by a vengeful ex-girlfriend who never got over my ending the relationship. Mr. Moore is extremely knowledgeable regarding Florida law in this type of case. Domestic Violence is not easy to defend, nor should it be. But, he understood that I was an innocent victim of a false accusation and fought one my behalf to have the case dismissed. He was always accessible, encouraging, and kept me updated. The case was eventually dismissed and I thank Mr. Moore for knowing exactly the course of action to take in my defense. I'm now hireable again!
