I am writing to help anyone else who has been injured at work and is deciding whether or not to get a lawyer. I research and write my reviews of everything online - restaurants, tire dealers, carpet cleaners, etc. I have lived in Florida for 21 years. I was at the same job for nine years and was ...hurt at my job a year and a half ago. Everything was OK at first, but then I realized that the doctors and insurance company were working together to screw me. I knew that I needed a lawyer. I must've had 35 lawyers contact me about my case. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are both lawyers, but not injury lawyers, and not in Florida. I did my own research to check on him and several others. I have also been told that you have to find an attorney that actually goes to a lot of trials in the area of law that you need. Some lawyers just try to settle cases and don't go to trial. But the insurance companies don't take them seriously because they know that those lawyers will not go to trial. Some of the lawyers that contacted me do "personal injury" but not really a lot of workers comp. anyway, I checked different court websites in Florida. I saw that Kevin R Gallagher took more workers comp cases to trial than ANY other attorney in the last three years. I kept checking, and saw that he has even won cases in front of the appellate courts and the Florida Supreme Court. There was another guy who did a lot of appellate and supreme court cases, but he only did the appellate and Supreme court cases. So, I decided Kevin Gallagher was definitely the lawyer I wanted. My brother-in-law said I would probably only talk to a paralegal. That was not the case. Kevin Gallagher met with me and my wife at our house. He talked to us for an hour and a half. It was amazing. There were so many things that I didn't even know insurance company was not supposed to be doing. I will talk to him, and he would tell me what the doctors were going to say before they even said it. Anyway, Kevin got me new doctors that actually knew what they were doing and were trying to help me. He made the insurance company pay me money that they owed me (They didn't pay me for three months before I hired Kevin because they said that the doctor said I could work "light duty"). I ended up having surgery. I'm not perfect now, but I'm pretty good. I could've went back to my job, but I decided not to. I just finished my case with the Gallagher Law Group, PA. I settled my case for $355,000.00. I have a new job. I am so grateful that I hired Kevin R Gallagher and the Gallagher Law Group, P.A., to help me through this. The entire office was great. I really hope this may help anyone else who had to go through what I did for those first several months before I hired Kevin R Gallagher.
