Karen A. Myatt

I would highly recommend Karen Myatt. She and her staff are so attentive and help you through the process. There was no exessive fees or issues, they help you get to the bottom of things quickly and help you through the process. None of the drawn out divorce process you always hear about. She is exc...ellent in all areas.

It cost me over $18,000 and I still wasn't divorced at 1 1/2 years of going through the process. She never had time to explain the case with me, she was off to California everytime I needed her. She couldn't make court dates and had her husband fill in who is not a family law lawyer. She did not c...ommunicate with my ex-husbands lawyer, she was very hostile to them both. This caused many problems for me. Instead of bringing spouses together to come to a resolution, she stirred the pot and made it worse. It cost me alot of money and I was headed for court. She would not pick up the phone and call the other lawyer. I do not recommend this lawyer , she will make your situation a worse night mare.

Karen Myatt and Myatt Law Center helped me through a very difficult 2 year period and eventual divorce. Karen and her staff were always there for me. At the beginning she helped me find a therapist for counseling for me and my children. She pointed me to community resources available for my special ...needs son.Later she referred me to a college resource to assist me in finding a job. I was a basket case for the year leading up to the divorce. She did not push me into filing for divorce. She listened. She urged that we try marriage counseling. When it did not work she helped me find the strength to file for divorce. I was kept up to date on my case. Karen sent me every piece of paper that came in or went out on my case. When I could not open the mail, I went in and met with her and her staff and reviewed it together. She provided resources, books and articles to read to help me through the emotional difficulty of separation and divorce. She treated my ex-husband with dignity at his deposition, but was very thorough in asking about his finances. I got a financial settlement I was very pleased with. She made sure to take good care of my children. It is not all about the money with her or her staff. They care about people.

After an initial great meeting, I hired Karen for my divorce. Once I signed a retainer agreement I rarely heard from her unless I called and nagged her office staff who always explained she was at some family emergency. Once my divorce was final, she charged me for a final closing letter which I neve...r requested or needed. The retainer agreement I signed clearly stated that If I wanted to discuss an invoice, I could contact Karen at anytime. That was not my experience. I contacted the office to dispute the final invoice and was told that the office would get back to me. No one ever did. I only kept receving invoices with late fees at random points in time, FInally, I was notified that the office was suing me for the final invoice. Not once did this office pick up the phone to discuss the final bill. Do not trust this attorney. She will charge you for correcting typos in her paperwork if you point them out to her. Dealing with this office was worse than my divorce 100 times over.
