Do NOT hire if you are looking for a Personal Injury Attorney!

Was referred to Finizio and Finizio Law Firm in Fort Lauderdale, and though I first started with Paul Finizio as my attorney, I soon chose to deal with Attorney Elizabeth “Beth” Finizio for personal reasons. While at first I thought I was satisfied and would continue to be, I was very quickly very di...ssatisfied. My main complaint was her lack of response to my questions in regards to my case over the three (3) years as a client. Not only would I try to reach her by phone with no avail or return calls, I would send endless emails asking for a call back, soon even resulting in long emails to Beth with every single question I had written out in emails marked with the word “URGENT” in the subject line. It would take Elizabeth “Beth” Finizio sometimes 3-4 weeks to respond back to me, even when she was aware I was in the midst of having over 20 serious surgeries due to injuries I incurred from the head-on auto accident caused by the drunk driver I was hit by. As this being my first time in a bad auto accident, I trusted my attorney to answer my questions during this difficult time. With this very extreme long delay in response, I actually had to ask many times whether she was still representing me, since I would go for such long periods without hearing from her, even while in the hospital after surgeries. She had little to no empathy. I finally had to contact the Florida Bar and they informed me that as an active client of hers, Elizabeth Finizio had a fiduciary duty to respond back to me within 48 hours by Florida Statutes, and if she could not, she must inform me IN WRITING, within 7 business days as to why she did not respond within the 48 hours in which I had contacted her. Once I brought this to Finizio’s attention, not only was there NO APOLOGY, she further argued that she had done no wrong and that she was aware of the Florida Bar’s guidelines. It was then that I had to actually point out to her EXACTLY where it was stated on the Florida Bar’s online statutes and she then started to comply in responding in a much better response time (though still not within the required 48 hour timeline). This is only the first main problem with Elizabeth Finizio. The real main shocker came recently when I called my own auto insurance company (USAA), even recording the call with two-party consent, and also speaking to my own auto adjuster to learn that Finizio had not once been in contact with my auto insurance company or adjuster even once in 2018 and that my case/claim had been closed due to “lack of attorney response” (which even she was unaware of). My own attorney had explicitly misinformed me (lies) to me all year in numerous emails, stating that she had been in touch with USAA all year and things were progressing and moving forward! Furthermore, I learned that none of my medical records had been sent to USAA since the end of 2016! I have had over 20 surgeries since that period! I think my insurance company would have found all of this information quite relevant! I don’t think I have ever come across any attorney this negligent, dishonest, disloyal, uneducated and inadequate at her profession and lacking of empathy in the existence of lawyers. I can only do my part and warn others to stay far away.
