Left out n the cold..

I am so devastated and disappointed in what Virginia did with my Divorce case.. First of all she does not allow her clients to express to her their feelings when it matters.. She only like to speak at a mile a minute and never listen to what her client actually wants.. She was unorganized most of the... time with my paperwork.. They were scattered all over and not stacked together neatly and in order as a lawyer should do.. I often felt as if I was paying her for nothing, ( even though I was struggling to pay her) I did not feel like she was working for me.. When we did go to mediation she did not take the time to explain to me what I was actually signing .. She did not break down each paragraph and legal words to me with their meanings..She did not stop and check for my understanding of anything that was written. After signing the mediation agreement, I went home and on that same night of signing it I could not sleep because something was not clear to me. . I text her late that night to inform her that I was not satisfied with the agreement and did not want it to be filed the following day or any day after; before going back over it with her. After yelling at me over the phone and talking a mile a minute again.. She assured me she will call my husband attorney and inform him of this.. That same afternoon she called me back to say that she was filing a motion to withdraw from my case.. I asked why? She said because to her the mediation agreement was the best I am going to get and she can't afford to do any more work on my case because of my high balance.. I explained ( well atleast I tried to) that I did not want to just walk away from my home of 10yrs even though it's in foreclosure and Quick claim Deed it over to my husband with what he was offering. In the mediation room when my sister asked her what she thought about the offer that his side presented, she just said she would let me decide.. I have no knowledge of the Divorce laws and it's settlements terms. Yet she allowed me to go ahead and sign that mediation agreement.. Had I not asked for a higher amount because I wanted her fees to be paid as well; the agreement would have been less.. She knew I was unable to retain a new attorney due to financial strain i was already under, yet she advised me to seek a new one. So for about a week I had the impression that she had done what I had asked her to do about not filing the mediation papers before she filed her motion to withdraw.. I was completely shocked, when I received papers from her in the mail stating that my mediation papers was indeed filed and I had a final hearing for my divorce within one week. I have tried on several occasions to contact her and her office but to no avail.. No one is returning my calls. She has now put a charging lien on me.. Before she withdraw I have also asked her about filing the Qualified Domestic Relations Orders for all my husband retirement, deferred compensations, pensions and so forth; and this was not done either. She scheduled the hearing to withdraw and gave me about three working days notification.. I notified her that I was unable to attend due to my job; since I was just returning back to work after the summer. She still went ahead with the hearing and I was not there to tell the judge my side of what she told him her reasons for withdrawing was. This to me was unfair.. I begged her not to drop my case in the middle of the divorce like this.. I told her I agree with the rest of the mediation agreement, but that part about me moving out of the house in 90 days, signing over all my rights to the house, even though it's in foreclosure.. My husband plans is to use some of his retirement income and take the house out of foreclosure once I was out, and he would also apply for a loan modification. So he could continue living there. I told her what he has agreed to give me could not even cover moving expenses or her attorney fees. I was going to need first, last and security deposit, plus the cost to hire a moving company.. In her letter informing me of that her motion w

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I endorse this lawyer. Virginia has helped many people in this community in tough times of desparate need and gotten them through crisis and can do the same for you. I would certainly call him for my own family's issues should they ever arise."

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I have known Virginia for a number of years now. I met her because she was opposing counsel on a case. Then we crossed paths again because she was opposing counsel on another case. I have found her to be an excellent attorney. She cares about her clients. She is tough but fair and is always thinking about the big picture. What I really like about her is that she does not play games. She advocates with purpose. She will let you know where she stands on issues. That means alot when having to deal attorney to attorney. If you are thinking about choosing her for your attorney, you have made a great choice."
