The Definition of a Professional
Scott Austin is the definition of a professional. He treats small clients just getting their business started like a Fortune 500 company. Scott helped us set up our first LLC for a small business. He went above and beyond to ensure things were organized appropriately and that we understood the process. We learned a tremendous amount by working with Scott. He always made time for us and provided detailed and thorough answers to all of our questions. I highly recommend Scott Austin to anyone looking to set up an LLC. He is a tremendous person and treats his clients with a great deal of care and respect.

Excellent Attorney
Scott Austin is an excellent attorney. He has proved this on many separate occasions during the last 7 years he has represented my international music publishing and concert business. He is trustworthy, highly intelligent and focused in his approach to protecting my trademarks and copyright registrations. He can be forceful against opponents but remains efficient in his use of time. Scott previews legal options and outcomes with me, which has proven immensely effective in avoiding unnecessary litigation. In addition to his recognized skill in his chosen specialty, he maintains a sensitivity, understanding, and compassion for his client's cause that conveys at once a familial warmth and a high level of confidence. His advice and actions have always resulted in exceptional results for me and our business. Scott is a great lawyer with extraordinary knowledge of global music copyright and licensing law. He's also an overall wonderful guy and a delight to work with. Highly recommended.

Scott Austin saved the day!
Our app which has over 10 million downloads was suddenly taken down from the Google Play store without any prior notice. Apparently, a foreign music label claimed copyright infringement and submitted a false claim to Google. Scott quickly provided guidance on the proper language to submit via an Appeal to Google, and greater guidance on the legal ramifications of the complaint, when/how to communicate with the foreign company directly, and general knowledge of the music industry around this topic. Most importantly, he leveraged his contacts within Google to better understand best practices and appropriate course of actions. Within 6 days, our app was live in the store! Scott is a great lawyer with extraordinary knowledge on global music copyright and licensing law. He's also an overall wonderful guy and a delight to work with. Highly recommend.

I have worked with Scott extensively on a number of trademark matters involving complex and contested use of valuable marks that directly affected the markets for valuable products. None of these matters was straightforward from either an intellectual property or a business perspective. Scott provides what the owners of a valuable product with trademark rights really needs-- the ability to understand the underlying business objectives in addition to legal issues. In an increasingly arcane area of law, involving trademarks, domain names, and complicated evidentiary issues, Scott provided a workable settle the complicated dispute within intransigent opponent. By consistently advancing an aggressive posture , while offering a sensible win-win intermediate resolution, the matters were sensibly resolved without enormous expense. The best attorneys always take the time to understand the client's business objectives and to craft a strategy accordingly. Scott does that and it is increasingly rare in today's environment.

Intellectual Property and trademark
Scott was recommended to me by a prominent intellectual property attorney from Boston. I had recently sold the property I created for events, photo shoots, short-term stays, and intended to set up the same business at a new location. The new owners, after signing an agreement not to use my name, website, press, and photographs, proceeded to use all of it. Since they were very wealthy, and I was not, they rightly assumed I would be unable to litigate. Scott Austin totally saved me. He doggedly pursued them, never faltering when they relentlessly persisted with endless stalling tactics. He not only got a comprehensive agreement signed by them, but he further protected me and my business with Federal and State trademarks. He is amazingly thorough, tenacious when needed, very patient, and great to work with. Thank you Scott !

Trademark Help for Tech Start-up
Scott provided a cost effective service for our new company to defend against a trademark issue (our name) and helped us think through all of the options for moving forward. We ultimately decided on going for a new name (and hope we don't have to do this again, but would work with Scott if we did!). He also help us strategize for our new name/trademark application to ensure it was highly defensible. As a start-up, we appreciated his experience in the field and willingness to work with us within a reasonable budget. (and he has a good sense of humor :-) )

His pro-active follow-through is FANTASTIC
Scott Austin has handled my trademark work for about 3 yrs. His pro active follow through is impressive. He contacts me in advance of my trademark related deadlines coming due. And he gets me through them accurately and on time. His follow through is best I've had in any attorney. Scott knows his stuff, is helpful, and seems to really care about the client. I appreciate that he tries to keep his fees as low as possible, and that he does actual work over the phone without insisting on an in-person appointment. Scott was referred to me by another existing client who was also extremely satisfied with the same things as I am. Since I am a much smaller client, with a start-up business that has yet to start, I never expected to receive the same level of care as the bigger client did. But I do. Every time. I trust him completely and can refer him wholeheartedly.

"While Scott called me in order to discuss a matter of his, it was I who became impressed with Scott. He is thorough. He looks at all sides and is able to come up with the arguments that help him in court. While it may sound cliche on this website, I endorse this lawyer."

Relationship: Worked together on matter
"I have known Scott since 1989, and have worked with him on several cases, where he is the IP "specialist", and I am the litigator. It sounds simple, but Scott really "knows his stuff". For this reason, I have recommended him to some of my business clients, at least one of whom continues to use him on a regular basis for trademark matters, which are an ongoing part of that client's business. I recommend him without reservation."
