Joseph Zager obtained his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University School of Law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mr. Zager is admitted to both the Florida Bar and to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Mr. Zager started his career while in law school as an Intern for local defense attorneys in Broward County. Upon graduating from law school he worked for the Broward County State Attorneys Office. Mr. Zager has over thirteen (13) years experience as a Prosecutor working in many different divisions including the Sexual Battery Unit, where he helped create the Computer CyberCrime Unit which focused on Child Pornography and Computer Child Exploitation.  Mr. Zager also was a supervisor to new attorneys in the Misdemeanor Division and has prosecuted all levels of crime including Capital Sexual Battery, Murder, Kidnapping, Aggravated Batteryand Robbery with a Firearm.

Since leaving the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Zager has handled all types of Criminal Defense and Family Law Matters as well as assisted injured workers in obtaining their financial and medical benefits from employers.  Mr. Zager in his own legal practice focuses on high level communication with clients and zealously advocates on their behalf.

Mr. Zager has developed a reputation for operating ethically while aggressively defending the interests of his clients. Once engaged in representing an individual, he will prepare and investigate every possible angle to seek out any issue that will help strengthen his clients case. Joseph Got It Done!
I was not looking forward to taking my combative ex to family court, but I needed to resolve a messy custody schedule and leftover issues from divorce. I needed someone that would be aggressive in helping me get what I wanted - and Joseph Zager was the right choice. I had contacted several attorneys in Miami and didn't get the confident feeling that I was looking for in a lawyer, and then a good friend referred me to Joseph. After a phone call and meeting I immediately knew that Joseph understood the whole legal landscape and that he could handle everything for me. Because of Covid-19 the movement through the court system was slow, but we finally got a mediation date and had the opportunity to bring the issues up a court-appointed session. It was at this point I confirmed how great of a choice I had made to work with Joseph. He was able to manage the conversation with the mediator and my ex in a way that was productive, and presented the my issues within the legal framework. I definitely felt good about having Joseph on my side and we did reach an agreement in mediation, without having to go to court. In the end I was able to get all of the things I wanted accomplished, and I know for sure it’s because I had a good attorney on my side. JOSEPH GOT IT DONE FOR ME! I'm very happy I have a new schedule with my kids, and the other problems were 100% resolved in the way I wanted them to be. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a great lawyer.

Don’t dare change your mind
I hired Mr Zager for a specific reason and then decided to go with another attorney..Mr Zager refused to give me back my initial retainer claiming that he did work equaling that amount of money even thought it wasn’t true..Apparently he feels that $1500.00 for less than one hours work is fair..Be mindful of what you are signing with this one..
