Biography
I have handled Defense Base Act, War Hazards and/or Longshore cases for the past 22 years and have handled over 1,000 mediations and over 1,500 depositions and over 100 informal conference hearings on behalf of injured workers during those 22 years. I am the son of a contractor and lived in the Middle East for 4 years. Living in the Middle East allows me to understand better than most lawyers the cultural and political situation contractors stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and other contries in the Middle East deal with. I have seen almost every issue imaginable under the DBA and/or the LHWCA, and have handled these cases at the level of informal conference hearings before the OWCP, trials at the level of the OALJ and appeals to the BRB and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. As a result of handling so many cases and seeing so many issues at each level of hearing, I have developed an effective and keen ability to negotiate and to zealously advocate for my clients. I have recieved 2018 Avvo Client Choice Award in recognition of Client Satisfaction and the 2018 American Institute of Legal Counsel recognition as one of the "10 Best Attorneys" in the State of Florida for work related injury cases. I have attended CLE conferences each year and has been invited to speak as an expert in the area of DBA/Longshore cases. I have researched most areas of the Act and is familiar with the nuances associated with this very specialized area of the law.
