Sonia Yvette Amador

SONIA Y. AMADOR is the managing partner of the Miami Bankruptcy Center and the Law Offices of Sonia Y. Amador, P.A. Ms. Amador’s areas of practice include bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, and commercial litigation. She graduated cum laude from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2001. Ms. Amador attended Florida International University School of Law and graduated cum laude in 2006. While in law school, Ms. Amador was the recipient of the Book Award in Bankruptcy, Trial Litigation Skills, and Legal Writing II. Ms. Amador also was also winner of the Best Brief award at the Florida International University Intramural Moot Court Competition and a Semi-Finalist in the Weschler Competition at American University in Washington D.C. Upon graduation, Ms. Amador had the opportunity to clerk for the Honorable Angel A. Cortinas at the prestigious Third District Court of Appeal in Florida. Furthermore, Ms. Amador also had the unique opportunity of working for Florida Default Law Group, a foreclosure firm, where she gained firsthand experience handling hundreds of foreclosure cases.

In addition to being admitted to the Florida Bar, Ms. Amador is currently admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
