Richard Alan Golden

I used Mr. Golden to help with a realty dispute, where the seller was attempting to retain a large cash deposit on a purchase that did not go through. He was the attorney for my escrow agency, and when the dispute first arose he consulted that this was an open-shut case, where I would likely just n...eed a letter demanding the return of the money, written by him, and that would be sufficient to scare off the seller. Upon my paying his retaining fee, Mr. Golden wrote this letter. It proved vague, and did not indicate an investment of time put towards the crafting of it, nor did it indicate he had actually looked at or referenced the contract when crafting this letter. The selling party opted to move towards mediation, rather than being intimidated by this letter. As the mediation date drew near, Mr. Golden requested an additional retaining fee to secure him for this process. Unfamiliar with mediation, I requested a phone conference to discuss what to expect from him leading up to and during this meeting, prior to paying this additional retaining fee. Rather than a phone call, I received a letter two days later where he declined being able to serve any further in my case. This left me two weeks away from mediation, with no representation, scrambling to find another attorney option. Thankfully a friend referred me to another lawyer who was more responsive, wrote an itemized statement for contractual reasons as to why I should have my deposit returned, and ultimately had the large majority of the deposit returned through mediation. I would discourage the use of Mr Golden, based on my experience with him.

My husband and I contracted with Richard Golden to execute our real estate transaction. This was a complicated proceeding involving different interests. . Mr. Golden and his law firm were on top of all the issues, with a positive outcome for all parties. Our communications were promptly addressed. ... Only the highest praise for Richard Golden and staff for their patience and professional service.

Despite numerous attempts over many months, Mr. Golden did not respond to voice and email communication with me and others very relevant/important to the case. He did not protect assets. He did not file court documents on time (or at all). Strong indication that he had a conflict of interest and shou...ld have recused himself.
