Daniel Angel Umbert

Daniel Umbert is the founder and lead attorney at True North Law, P.A., a Miami family law firm serving clients in Miami-Dade and Broward counties in the areas of paternity, divorce, child support, and related matters.
A long-time resident of Miami-Dade and Broward counties, Daniel earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale in 2011, before going on to obtain his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 2014. While in law school, he served as Law Clerk for a judge on the Eleventh Judicial Court of Florida in Miami. Daniel is also fluent in Spanish.

From the start, Daniel’s legal career has been focused strictly on the area of family law. Before entering private practice, he worked for the Florida Department of Revenue Child Support Program as an Assistant Attorney General in Broward County, litigating on behalf of the Florida Department of Revenue. He also served for several years as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, where he handled legal matters related to Child Support Enforcement.

Daniel has spent most of his legal career in court and is adept at litigating contested marital and family law matters. He is equally at home working with people to settle disputes outside of the courtroom. Daniel’s practice at True North Law, P.A., includes representing parties in divorce and family law mediation, as well as separation planning and consulting prior to filing for divorce. Daniel is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a mediator in family law.

Outside of the office, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife, their two little boys, and the family cats Peggy and Ricky. He also indulges his passions for gardening and music whenever time allows.
