also known as Joey Kaye
Joey Kaye is a Partner at The Moskowitz Law Firm, where he represents consumers, businesses, and plaintiffs nationwide in high-stakes class actions, complex commercial disputes, and multidistrict litigation.
Joey’s practice focuses on uncovering and challenging corporate misconduct—particularly in the areas of consumer protection, cryptocurrency fraud, deceptive business practices, and mass harms. He has litigated and helped resolve a wide range of disputes involving securities violations, insurance and investment fraud, construction defects, antitrust, product liability, and mass torts, frequently through coordinated nationwide litigation.
He currently serves on the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee and as Co-Chair of the Briefing Committee in the landmark multidistrict litigation arising out of the collapse of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange. Joey also plays a key role in putative nationwide class actions against Voyager Digital and Binance, and was appointed class counsel in a global $11 million settlement in Harper v. Shaquille O’Neal, et al., which resolved securities claims on behalf of crypto-asset purchasers allegedly misled by celebrity endorsements.
Joey has secured victories in some of the most widely reported class actions in Florida and the country. These include:
Joey has also been instrumental in shaping favorable legal precedent for plaintiffs. In Cherry v. Dometic, he was part of the team that overturned the “administrative feasibility” requirement in the Eleventh Circuit, significantly lowering the barrier to class certification for plaintiffs in federal courts across the country. In Coventry Health Care v. Crosswinds Rehab, he helped preserve the rights of plaintiffs seeking to avoid compelled arbitration, securing a favorable ruling at both the trial and appellate levels.
Earlier in his career, Joey represented businesses and individuals in contract, fraud, trade practices, and trust litigation at a commercial litigation boutique. Notable wins from that time include:
Joey is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, where he was a Dean’s Fellow, earned multiple academic honors, and served on the Race and Social Justice Law Review. He also holds a B.A. in Creative Writing from Florida State University. He interned with U.S. Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman in the Southern District of Florida and was a certified legal intern in the Domestic Violence Unit of the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, gaining valuable courtroom experience early in his career.
He is admitted to practice in Florida, North Carolina, all three federal districts of Florida, the Western District of North Carolina, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Florida Bar, North Carolina Bar, and Dade County Bar Association.
Joey lives in Pinecrest, Florida, with his wife, Melody, and their daughters, Soleil and Mischa, who inspire everything he does. For Joey, the work is personal: “When someone walks into our office, it’s usually because a company much bigger than them took advantage of them. I make sure they’re not alone. That’s the job—and it’s an honor.”

Extremely Knowledgeable
I found him very knowledgeable and his attention to detail impressive. His thorough and compassionate approach to handling our case let us know he really cared. This is the kind of representation I would definitely recommend.
Especially when it appears at first glance that the chips are impossibly stacked against you, leaving no stone unturned often leads to creative avenues through which to seek recovery. I am very grateful for the opportunity to represent you, and even more so that you were pleased with my representation. If there is anything else I can do to help, you know where to find me!
