Giselle Marie Torres

I am proud member of the Armed Forces and have been for the past 10 years. I sought a lawyer through a bigger law firm in which Ms. Torres was working for. At the time I was stationed overseas. Due to nature of my job I always had access to computers, emails, phones 24/7. Shortly after she began work...ing my case the firm notified me that she would leaving to start her own firm, claiming that it was merely due to her being so good. I allowed her to take my case with her based on that word and due to her already knowing what I desired. I was seeking a divorce and full child custody. The case went on for over a year. She spoke well over the phone and through email and text and had me fully convinced that she had my case well taken care of. However, It wasn't until I learned from my now ex-wife that she was missing court appearances and or late. My wife at the time told me that she had actually only showed up once. {Part 1} Going back a little, when the case first began my ex-wife had no lawyer representation but after talking to Ms. Torres she ended up with someone my attorney had been associated with before. Coincidence I'm sure. Throughout the year she worked for me. Weekly she communicated with me and put my mind at ease. However, when I returned to the states and requested to have a face-to-face with Ms. Torres she always not available, and when I questioned this shockingly she threatened to quit. I was never able to get a face-to-face with Ms. Torres. I digressed and went on about as usual. During this time my ex-wife was fighting drug charges and multiple counts of credit card fraud in which I thought would work highly in my favor. Nearing the end of my case at this time it had been over a year that she had been working my case. I spoke with Ms. Torres over the phone and I asked if she needed me home for the remaining court appearances. She assured me that my presence was not needed. She even told me about upcoming dates scheduled in October and how she had it under control. Later that week I got a phone call from my soon to be ex-wife stating that she was angry about the no show of my attorney in August. Confused I thought my soon to be ex-wife had her information wrong. Shockingly she had not. The same day I called Ms. Torres and got not response so I sent a message asking what in the world my ex-wife was talking about. The next day Ms. Torres responded stating that she was withdrawing from my case due to lack of communication means. The last conversation I had with Ms. Torres she informed me that my wifes attorney was pretty fair and that he would contact me. She gave my wife’s attorney my contact information and it was wrong. Somehow after over a year and talking days prior she lost my contact information. It was my ex-wife that informed me that the information she provided was wrong. In all I ended up representing myself and I accepted the terms of her attorney. I ended up paying for both lawyers and lost full custody. The things my child has had to go through over the past few years has impacted him deeply. Luckily with proper representation I am close to giving him a stable and safe home. I highly recommend that you take caution with this attorney.
