On the first visit, I saw how professional attorney Colon was and as well as her team. She was surpris...ed by the situations in my case and I remember her reassuring words; "You are a good father and you will have time that you deserve with your daughter." She took all of my information about my case and started working right away. The first thing she did was send several friendly proposed agreements to the opposing attorney to avoid unnecessary expenses and as to not continue wasting time. You can defend yourself better ! Exorbitant rate and unprofessional. She’s is a CROOK, STAY AWAY !!! The FL Barr of Lawyers should check on this attorney’s practices!!!! She threatens clients to pay before to have the work done. Her only goal is to bill client every time $$$$ and not the reasonab...le price. She’s looking for more thing to complicate the case even if you have a simple case with no kids, no property, no joint account, no alimony.
I can’t imagine clients with kids, custody and properties How much she is charging ! She’ll not help your case. She even charged me more than $1,000 for a second case open where she not represented me. A simple Marital Agreement will cost you around $1,200 plus $1,500 to change or remove sentence. I have resolved my divorce case alone and representing by myself. I spend more than $7,000 in 1 month and half and I ended up the case defending myself on my own. The staff is very rude, they threaten you to size your property to pay even if they haven’t perform the work. I had to send the final judgment to the Judge by myself, she charged me for than and she didn’t perform the work ! Bills, Bills, Bills

I hired Marilyn Colon to represent me in a divorce case, gave a $5,000 retainer fee. I saw the lawyer once on the first consult. After that only paralegal and another lawyer. They will call me or email me for questions that they already had the answer with them just to charge me more because the more... calls and emails they do the more they charge you. At the end she end up being late on filing the divorce because there was always an excuse to why they haven't file the divorce. My ex-husband took advantage of that and his lawyer was faster and file the divorce in another state. not only I wasted my money and time on this lawyer, now I was left out in the cold. I had to travel many times to the other state and hire a new lawyer over there. It has been a terrible experience that I don't even want to think about it. hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I hired Marylin Colon to modify my divorce court order. Unfortunately at the same time my brother was going through a divorce and I recommended Marylin Colon early in the process. My modification was an increase in visitation and a recalculation of child support since one of my kids reached 18 years... of age. The retainer was gone in no time and had to pay another retainer. At the end of the day all I did was overpay and received poor results and service. As for my brother after paying this firm thousands of dollars and running into financial challenges, this firm was unwilling to work out a payment plan and withdrew from his case and did not represent him on his final divorce hearing because he owned money. I felt that this firm cared nothing about my case or future and even less for my brother’s. I regret referring by brother to this firm is more painful than the pain they caused me.

I hired them to represent me in a divorce. Before I hired them I had an in depth conversation with them that I basically needed them primarily to represent me in court. A previous attorney had done most of the filings and motions already but did nothing when we went before the judge. I retained them ...and she proceeded to nickel and dime me for a year and a half to the tune of $20,000. By the time we were supposed to finally go to court, she informs me that my retainer had run out and she was withdrawing from the case. I reminded her this was what I had retained her. She proceeded to recount the facts of "what she had done" for me over the last year. She could not even recount correctly the facts of the case. She had no clue. Facts all twisted. I was in shock! She is only into milking you and she is a pro at it. I had to finish the case with another attorney who was a real professional and finished it at a discount due to a referral of a friend.
