Lawrence Jay Spiegel

Background
Born January 24, 1941 in Orange, New Jersey. Was raised and attended grammar and high school in Essex County, New Jersey. In 1960 enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1963 with the rank of Sergeant. After active duty with the military, moved to Miami- Dade County, Florida. Thereafter attended Miami Dade Community College majoring in Business Administration and graduated in 1965. Thereafter attended Florida Atlantic University majoring in Business Administration graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1967.

Training
Graduated from Stetson University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree in May, 1970. Became a member of the Florida Bar immediately thereafter in November, 1970. A member in good standing of the Florida Bar continuously since that time.

Lawrence J. Spiegel is the author of Detours and Contradictions: The Challenge of Being an Entrepreneur. A nuts and bolts resource for the boot strapping entrepreneur who wants to start or grow a business.

Lawrence J. Spiegel is also the author of Charlie's Entrepreneurial Journey: A Guide to Success Through Entrepreneurship. His latest book provides 416 pages of insight into the world of an aspiring entrepreneur named Charlie. Charlie’s journey leads him through topics never discussed in business books but essential to success.

Experience
Years 1970 through 1980, engaged in the general practice of law emphasizing civil trial matters, corporate, family and real estate law. Was involved with at least 50 civil trials, 100 real estate closings, and well over 500 mortgage closings. Years 1971 through 1989, Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Personnel One, Inc.

Years 1989 through 1992, special Counsel to Personnel One, Inc. As a co-founder of this company, was instrumental in developing Personnel One, Inc. into Florida’s largest privately owned personnel service. During this period also developed two significant real estate projects. Years 1993 to present, engaged in the general practice of law with emphasis on Corporate, Business and Real Estate matters.

Since becoming a member of the Florida Bar, served well over 10,000 individual or corporate clients and also served as either general or special counsel to Personnel One, Inc., Financial Guaranty Corporation, AmeriProperties, Inc., AmeriFinancial, Inc., Mills Family Bakery, Inc. and Jay Lawrence Group, Inc. and over 100,000 individuals, businesses and Corporations through Spiegel & Utrera, P.A.

Lawrence J. Spiegel is a member of the Florida Bar, Dade County Bar Association, The Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers, The American Association of Trial Lawyers and the American Bar Association.
